What is the Child Care Food Program?
 
The Child Care Food Program is funded by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). The primary goal of the Child Care Food Program is to help children receive nutritious meals while introducing them to a variety of different types of food. The exposure of good nutrition at an early age benefits children by promoting healthful eating habits to last throughout their lives.  The program is available to children, 0 through 12 years of age who are in care in a licensed family daycare home, or in-home/licensed exempt (Trustline) family daycare home.
 
Who is eligible for Choices for Children’s Food Program?
 
Any licensed or in-home/license exempt (Trustline) family childcare provider is eligible to participate in the Child Care Food Program.
 
What is needed for a childcare provider to participate?
  • Have a current license (by Community Care or Military Licensing) and have daycare child(ren) enrolled
  • Serve nutritious meals that meet USDA requirements
  • Keep accurate attendance & menu records on a DAILY BASIS
  • Be available for 3 monitoring visits per year from CCFP monitoring staff
  • Participate in and complete mandatory Annual Nutrition Training
